PMW25 Presenter Application

Presenter Application

Jason here, founder of Plastic Model Weekender. My team and I are thrilled that you are interested in participating in Plastic Model Weekender 25: Celebrating 5 years of Model Kits, Charity, and Good Vibes!

PMW is the premier streaming charity event for the scale model community, supporting the incredible work of Cure Alzheimer’s Fund – a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research projects with the highest probability of preventing, treating, and ultimately curing Alzheimer’s Disease. I am unbelievably proud of this community, having raised nearly $80,000 to date for CAF through this event, so if you have not already, please check out their amazing work over at curealz.org

PMW continues in a four-day format this year, live on Twitch.tv/plamoweekender and plamoweekender.com. Donations will be accepted via Tiltify, with presenters having access to the stream chat, dedicated Discord server, and donation tracker.

Which, of course, is where you come in!

Here’s a basic rundown:

  • All streaming will take place on one Twitch channel – twitch.tv/plamoweekender and on plamoweekender.com. The most successful charity streams (in terms of views and donations) all take place on one server. You are, of course, more than welcome to host the stream on your personal channels (and spread the word!)
  • You only need cameras, decent lighting, a good internet connection, and a basic understanding of your preferred streaming software (OBS, XSplit, etc.) to apply, though experience does help candidates stand out.
  • All selected participants will be given a two-hour timeslot. Every effort will be made to fit the scheduling requirements provided in this form.
  • There will be prizes to give away! Dozens of prizes were graciously donated by our sponsors during previous events, and we are working on doing this again for 2025!

Sound fun to you? Great! Here is what we are looking for in – and asking of – presenters:

  • Production value is paramount. The better your setup looks and sounds, and more comfortable your on-air personality, the more likely you will be selected to present for the event. Stream graphics and overlays will be provided for the event from our end.
  • While you do not need the most professional broadcast setup, we are looking for participants with acceptable video and audio quality. If you have concerns, please feel free to reach out to Jason (Badgunpla), or one of the event staff, so we can discuss your options.
  • All participants will be required to pass a technical test prior to the event to ensure a consistent enough internet connection to support the quality of the host stream via our Cloudflare ingest server.
  • Participants that choose to bring their own guests on voice chat for their segment are responsible for their guests’ conduct. Guests are encouraged to have fun and be themselves, but are also expected to remain semi-professional and stay on topic during their participant’s segment. And, of course, to engage with the audience whenever possible!
  • This will be a major event (hundreds of people – including sponsors, industry groups, and CAF themselves – will be tuning in), so a general respect of the fact that we will be with a worldwide, all ages audience is important. Try to keep language and other content PG to PG-13. PMW Staff reserves the right to remove a presenter or guest from the presenter lineup or from live broadcast for any reason.
  • Along the same line, submitting an application to participate does NOT guarantee you a place on the stream. But, even if you are not selected, it is still good for us to know who is out there for future events!
  • Build cool stuff! Variety is what makes build events interesting! Non Gundam kits are encouraged also, as are resin garage kits that aren’t explicitly plastic, for example.
  • If selected, we ask that you not “co-stream” your segment on your own channel while presenting. Co-streaming can lead to audience confusion and other logistical issues.
  • By presenting during PMW, you consent to Plastic Model Weekender using your presenter name and likeness for promotion of the event, including archival clips for social media. Additionally, Plastic Model Weekender may archive a recording (a VOD) of your segment for the PMW Youtube channel, and for editing for marketing purposes. If there are any concerns with this stipulation, we are more than happy to work within your needs if you are selected to present.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE SELECTED AS A PARTICIPANT FOR THE EVENT, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR GIVEAWAYS FROM POTENTIAL SPONSORS, DUE TO PERCEIVED CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

Still interested? Even greater!

I really hope that this sounds like an exciting chance to bring the community together once again for a good cause! If you are interested, please proceed to the next section to submit your information.
